The book itself had an orange cover, but typical romance pose - swooning female, handsome man.

I think the story itself took place at the end of the Civil War. Basically, boy/girl fall in love, there is some sort of misunderstanding. Boy goes off to fight in war; believed to be killed, but I think is really injured and for a short time, suffers from amnesia.

The only real sticking detail is that the villan of the story (who is enamored by the heroine) has a penchant for sadism and has a collection of adult "toys". I believe at the end of the story said villain kidnapps heroine and hero finally saves her.

I've tried Book Sleuth on Romantic Times as well as tried several searches and have been unable to find this one, so any help is appreciated.

Thanks!
