Question: Witches (NOT Harry Potter)

Main character:  12? year old girl.  Older siblings are twins.  Goes to a
school for witches where they are taught to be invisible by staring into
ink bottles. Somehow she has to outwit the headmistress by being invisible,
but she doesn't have an ink bottle.

(That's all I can remember.)

I read this back in the "80's so it was probably printed in the '70's.

No, that wasn't it.  There was something about how if a kid was born
after twins, that kid had special powers. And there was an evil teacher
and the girl had to make herself invisible by looking in a glass of
