I'm trying to locate a book I remember from when I was a child. It was a
book about chess (how to play, I believe). It was an oversize book and I
remember the pages describing each piece had great caricatures of the
pieces- the queen was a large woman with viking-style chest covering and
hat, with a sword, I think, and the king was a frail, slender looking guy
holding a flower.

I read it around the time I learned to play, which was around 1990. It was
a book I found on a library shelf. It was definitely between 1985 and 1995
that I read it.

I haven't found anything else about it as its been decades, but I remember
I loved it, and I'd like to use it to teach some of the new generation:)
